Yes, but doctors treat headaches with lots of off-label drugs. I have been treated for headaches with heart medicine, depression meds, seizure meds and now mania meds. Many treat nerve pain.

Different drugs help do different people. I think the most important thing is the Dr you see. I started with a neurologist, but headaches are just a small part of their practice. I see Dr Merle Diamond at the Diamond Headache clinic in Chicago even though I live in Tenn. there are the best. She is a headache specialist.

Many of these drugs are indicated for migraine: beta blockers, psychiatric meds, calcium channel blockers, seizure meds…that was their initial indication, but they’re now FDA approved for migraine 😊
