Members strongly agreed that tracking migraines is essential for identifying patterns and triggers, with many recommending the Migraine Buddy app for its ability to log symptoms, medications, barometric pressure data, and generate reports for doctors. Several members shared practical alternatives including using a notebook, notepad app, or wall calendar to record details like onset time, potential triggers (food, stress, weather), severity, and what treatments helped. A recurring theme was the challenge of remembering to log during severe migraines, with members suggesting keeping tracking tools visible and accessible, or logging details within 24 hours when feeling better.

I tried to install Migraine Buddy, and I started it, but they wanted money to use it

Migraine Buddy is on Google play. Just search Migraine Buddy app. I would imagine you can put it on all devices, but you'll have to check. April, do you have any old phones still hanging around? I keep a lot of apps on my old phones so as to not slow down my "real" cellphone. They're just mini computers after all. You send reports by email so that still works on old phones because it's on the internet. To be honest, I prefer writing my emails on my old Samsung because the old AI technology to understand talk to text is superb compared to my new one. My new one doesn't recognize words as well and always turns long words into a mishmash of smaller words. Plus, it doesn't punctuate as good as the one one does. Anyway, try installing Migraine Buddy in your old phone. Not enough room? Uninstall unnecessary apps that you don't use anymore.

Yes, I’ve been told that it is important so you can see what is happening as you are going through it. Like what were you doing the minute you noticed the migraine starting to build? What were you eating or drinking that could have caused it…what medication you were taking that may have set it off but you didn’t connect it until you started logging your migraines. Were you exercising when it was happening…were you stressed? Stuff like that….the severity of said migraine when you first noticed it. What medications you took and whether or not it helped you.

There is an app called the Migraine Buddy. It also has you log what medications you take at the onset of migraine. What other than medication did you take or do to help ease your migraine such as “I took Nurtec at 2pm, and I used a ice cap on my head” or took a long shower, just log whatever you notice.

I have the migraine buddy app but have been very bad at logging my own progress…I’ve gotten a bit sloppy. However when you are in the throws of a migraine the last thing you want to do is run to the app and start logging what you are doing….lol. Then I tend to forget to go back and do the days I missed.

Anyway I hope this helps!

Hugs
