Members encouraged someone experiencing itchy pinkish freckles to see a dermatologist rather than relying on online advice, which the original poster did the very next day. The dermatologist diagnosed keratosis pilaris and possibly eczema, prescribed Kenalog ointment for inflammation, and ordered labs and imaging that also revealed degenerative spine issues likely related to a prior condition called Langerhans cell Histiocytosis. A recurring theme was the importance of following up with specialists, not accepting the first diagnosis if symptoms don't improve, and staying proactive about new or worsening concerns.

So, dermatologist ordered labs and a chest x-ray. She thinks I have keratosis pilaris and possibly eczema. She gave me a bunch of samples for my super dry skin. And a prescription ointment called Kenalog for the KP and inflammation. I also have a degenerative thoriac spine and deformity is the midthoracic spine, most likely related to my Langerhans cell Histiocytosis- could explain why I feel stiff all the time. I have to go back in 2 months.

The KP has improved with Kenalog.

And I'm seeing an orthopedic specialist next month about my spine.

And, I asked both my PCP and my dermatologist about what to do about the problems with my back- sounds like I need to see an orthopedic specialist.
