I agree with the above answer for the Migraine Buddy. Personally I tried to get in the habit of using it but I just never could keep up with it. It helps to log what your symptoms are and what medications you took and whether or not they worked for you or not. Think of it also as a journal where you can put notes in it such as questions or statements you want to remember for your next visit to the doctor. I did use it for about a month and just gave up since I was having a migraine at that time daily and nothing was working for me at all. I never was much for logging entries or journaling etc, guess it just isn’t in my makeup to do that sort of thing…LOL

I used to take Emgality. It worked great for about 6 months then stopped working. Plus insurance stopped covering it for me.

Congratulations on getting insurance coverage for Emgality! It's a significant win, as insurance coverage for newer migraine treatments can sometimes be challenging to obtain. If you experience any future insurance coverage issues, remember that drug companies often offer payment assistance programs, and your neurologist can help advocate for coverage. Regarding Migraine Buddy - this is an excellent recommendation from your neurologist! Many people with migraines find it helpful for tracking and charting their migraines. The app even provides barometric pressure alerts, which can be useful since weather changes can trigger migraines. Keeping a consistent migraine diary through an app like this helps you and your neurologist better understand your symptoms and optimize your treatment plan.

Both help me. I am using migraine monitor now instead of migraine buddy. It is really interactive and gives you a running tally of days. I am on day 32 today 😭. Migraines suck. I don't think people realize just how much they rob you of all your energy. Hopefully you will have a normal journey. For most, as you get past child bearing years they are supposed to slowly fade. Mine felt like they were secretly taking steroids and after 40 they got so bad I am in bed most of the time. That is what my room typically looks like unless I have to get up and move around. I am in the dark so much that I bruise myself all the time running into things
