I have been involved with what used to be the Ryan Headache clinic and has changed names and I continued to see Dr Smith with Study Metrix in St Peters. I was in many different migraine studies using different meds for migraine treatment. I have chronic migraines and was part of a study for Aimovig and then after Aimovig and Emgality were approved by FDA and on the market. My dr suggested I use the Emgality for a monthly treatment and I found that Lilly Cares approved me for free shots. Great program but now I don't qualify and as you know insurance doesn't always cover the new meds. I wanted to try a new med and my PCP suggested Ajovy but my insurance only coved the first 3 month supply so now I'm on Qulipta and praying that this will be a good fit.
I know Springfield is a long drive but if you were willing to you could contact Study Metrix and see what studies are available to you and if it would be worth the trip to this area. I recommend them highly. Studies pay for your visit and somewhat for travel but I don't know how much as each are different.

Hey can I ask exactly why you took Emgality. I was told to try it by a Neurologist. I don't do medicine easily!! Don't trust so much out there. My diagnosis is rare believe it or not. Would be interested in what exactly you have been diagnosed with, who you see etc if u don't mind sharing. I live in Springfield MO

Sometimes you can contact drug company for discount card. I did that with some migraine meds and went from thousands to a few dollars. Worth trying

Yes Imitrex can cause rebound migraines if you use too often. Praying you feel better soon.

I’ve been taking imitrex almost daily and I don’t think that’s a good long term solution
