Members responded to the question about feeling hungover before and after migraines, with many describing similar experiences including brain fog, extreme fatigue, vertigo, and lingering cloudiness that can last for days after the pain subsides. Several members shared that the hangover feeling might stem from migraine medications themselves, while others noted they struggle to differentiate post-migraine effects from chronic, constant headaches that never fully resolve. A recurring theme was the exhausting reality of living with chronic migraines and the importance of discussing these aftereffects with a neurologist to explore potential relief strategies beyond hot tea and rest.

Have been getting chronic migraines begin with heavy feeling of vertigo (dizzy) then feeling the aura then pain falls right into activity. When migraine finally stops, I will get slammed with the hangover effect. Trying to figure out best way to work through that hangover feeling rather than just drinking hot tea. If anyone has ideas to share please do.

I am at the beginning of 13 years of one chronic migraine, never having gone away. Several years ago, I was inpatient for five or six days and whatever was in the IV made a tremendous difference. I was back in the ER the day after I was discharged 😞.
