I dont mean lingering effects i mean chronic light sensitivity, light and dark contrast difficulties, things like that. Another example would be chronic brain fog due to the migraines. Like is there any evidence to suggest migraines can cause any lasting damage other than what happens DURING the migraine cycle( predrome, migraine, postdrome)

Can migraines with aura cause lasting eye problems?

Most visual disturbances from migraine auras are temporary, typically lasting less than an hour. However, some people do experience lingering effects after their migraine attacks subside.

Vision problems can persist even when headaches are no longer an issue. By age 50, it's not uncommon for people with migraine to experience vision changes only during attacks rather than as lasting effects.

During the postdrome phase (the "migraine hangover"), some people continue to experience symptoms like:
* Light sensitivity (photophobia)
* Blurry vision
* Difficulty concentrating
* Confusion
* Fatigue

A MyMigraineTeam member shared experiencing "confusion, poor articulation, fatigue, weakness, nausea, trouble focusing, and back pain" after migraine attacks. Another noted feeling "dizziness, lightheadedness, feeling out of it, weakness, and anxiety."

These after-effects can last hours or even days following a migraine. While most visual symptoms resolve, if you're experiencing frequent or persistent eye problems, it's important to discuss this with your healthcare provider to rule out other concerns and ensure proper management.
