I've have migraine with aura for over 35 years. Sometimes I don't have the blind spot or aura but it feels like my eye gets stuck. It's a weird sensation. It's almost like looking through a viewfinder from years ago and when you click it, it gets stuck between two slides. It only lasts for a couple seconds, but feels so weird. It almost feels like a little pressure. Then after a while, I'll have the one sided pain. The brain fog after a migraine lasts for days. I almost feel like my brain is… read more

Do others experience weird visual sensations or funny feelings in their eye during migraines?

Yes, many people with migraines experience unusual visual sensations that can be hard to describe. Your "stuck" feeling between slides is a unique way to describe what sounds like a brief visual disturbance that precedes your migraine pain.

MyMigraineTeam members have shared similar experiences with various visual symptoms:

* One member described visual auras affecting a large portion of their vision, making daily tasks difficult
* Another experienced pulsating waves traveling across their field of vision
* Some report feeling like someone is pushing their eye from behind the socket
* Others describe seeing bright wavy lines, zigzag patterns, or experiencing brief blindness

The slight pressure sensation you mention is also common. Eye pain and pressure during migraines can result from nerve sensitivity in the trigeminal system, which affects facial sensation and has nerve endings in the cornea. About the brain fog:

The exhaustion and difficulty holding conversations you experience after a migraine is very real. Brain fog is a recognized post-migraine symptom that can linger for days. Your brain essentially needs recovery time after the intense neurological activity of a migraine attack.

Since your visual symptoms don't always follow the typical aura pattern and you're experiencing these sensations before one-sided pain develops, it's worth discussing these specific symptoms with your healthcare provider. They can help determine if this represents a variation of your usual migraine pattern or if any evaluation is needed.
