I have a neurologist, pain management doc, ENT, councilor and my pcp. I feel like if I could find a headache clinic /specialist, I may have better luck. I have intractable migraines 24/7 for about two years.
I go to the headache center at Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Hanover, NH. My daughter was a patient there too. It's a teaching hospital, so my doc is a resident who is overseen by an experienced neurologist. In my experience, appointments are long it's lots of personalized attention. Highly recommended!
i have a headache specialist in Denver who is a migraineur herself. Changed my life the first time I saw her. I drive 5 hours each way, and it is still totally worth it even after 4 years.
That's awesome! I have found one about 3 hours away so I'm in the process of getting a referral.
I agree with you! I drive 7 hours every 8 weeks to a Headache Institute to see a specialist and it's definitely worth it!!! I've seen the most improvement since I started seeing her and she pretty much controls all of my meds now. Actually she pretty much controls my entire life. I follow her every order and it's all made a difference. Wish we were nearer to each other so I could recommend her to you!
They won't take my insurance =(
