Daith Piercing
A MyMigraineTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have heard a lot of the daith piercing. I was wondering if anyone has done it. Did it work for you? How long did it take before it work? Need pro and con's about this kind of piercing before I do it.

I have had the daith piercings in the past. I had both done the same day. It was a miracle work for me. I had a migraine when I went in to get them done. It took the pain away right away. Any time I got a migraine, I just either gave a gentle pull or twisted the piercings gently. It worked the whole time I had them, but my sugar kept causing infection in them.

I got mine in my left ear. I had a migraine when I got it and as soon as the needle went in I could feel the pressure ease off. By the time I left the shop it was completely gone.

I got mine in the right ear. Had a migraine when I arrived at the shop to get it done. Within 10 minutes of getting the piercing my migraine was GONE. Not eased, not lessened, GONE. I went from over 4 migraines a week to 1 every 6 weeks or so. Best decision I ever made, it's been 2 years and it's still effective. $25 very well spent.

Pros. Less frequent/intense migraines and headaches. When you do get headaches just gently twist, spin or press on the jewelry and it goes away quickly.

Cons. It takes 4- 6 months to heal completely and is difficult to change out yourself.

I have a faith piercing. It helps quite a bit. I had to remove it for a MRI 2 weeks ago and have not been able to get it back in.
