I would like to know how well they work for those that experience severe migraines
I've had mine on left side for over 10 yrs and worked really well to start with. Not so much now. But I've left it in. Also, I was recently told I needed both sides done... so have considered getting the right side done. But have decided yet.
@A MyMigraineTeam Member I honestly wish it was that simple. I have nerve damage from a brain surgery that caused severe chronic migraines. We've (pain management and I) have been going through the motions of different options. There are only a few select items that have been found at this time to maintain; Botox and Ajovy with the emergency met Ubrelvy. Because there are severe migraines taking place due to the damaged nerve we're looking at other options. I do appreciate the thought.
I agree. I have had one for about 10 years. I think it worked in the beginning, but I believe it no longer works.
I had severe migraines for 45 years and tried just about everything, including the Daith piercing. It did work in the beginning for a few months, but then the headaches were back with a vengeance. What has relieved my migraines nearly completely now, is hypnotherapy. I had 6 months of hypnotherapy with Damian Miller at Life After Migraines Program. I urge you to get in touch with Damian and try it for yourself! You have nothing to lose but your migraines, Sue! He is on Facebook, so get in touch with him and see what you think! While at work we got into a heavy discussion on this as there was four of us including myself with chronic migraines having issues controlling them. A few in the group of the conversation have the daith and have said how it benefits their need as they couldn't benefit by use of medication. That is what raised my eyebrow on wanting to know more about the daith from the beginning. I have also been someone who has chronic migraines that are very difficult at times to keep maintenance because of the location and the severity taking place. I will continue my research on finding a solution. I greatly appreciate everyone's feedback.
