A day or two off isn’t enough time for me. My migraine hangover can last weeks. Thank you :)

When working at the time, I was under disability clause. I could take a 1/2 day or day off if necessary should an issue arise without a doctor's note being needed.

When applying for the position I stated I had a disability and that is how I was given the ADA clause.

Getting documentation from a neurologist can sometimes feel like pulling teeth — you're definitely not alone in this experience! Many people with migraines have navigated this exact frustration.

A few tips that may help:

- Be specific about what you need — mention it's for a diagnosis letter outlining your migraine symptoms
- Put it in writing — send a message through your patient portal so there's a paper trail
- Ask the office coordinator directly, as they often handle these requests separately from the doctor
- Follow up if you don't hear back within a week or two It's also worth noting that MyMigraineTeam members who saw neurologists or headache specialists reported significantly better communication experiences overall — 79% felt their questions were clearly and thoroughly answered.

If your neurologist isn't being responsive, that may be a sign to advocate more firmly for yourself, or consider whether a headache specialist might be a better fit for your care.
