I got the @piercing in my right ear about 4-5 years ago now. I had been having extreme migraines since middle school. Full blown light and sound sensitivity, dizziness when standing, severe pain behind my eyes radiating through my entire head , even down my neck. I would have to be taken to the hospital and given morphine shots to settle my head because 800 mg @ibuprofen , @advil, alive, even excedrin migraine and extra strength wouldn't cure it. In the 4-5 years I maybe have had 3- 4 bad… read more

I am dealing with one person who does not get migraines and she does not understand the help I need, the activities I can not do when I have one, how sluggish I feel after it and that I can not give it my all when I have a migraine etc. How do you get your needs met but not be rude to the people who do not understand? What helps them to understand , listen to you, or be more willing to help you?Really struggling with these type of interactions. Thanks for your help.
Have you educated yourself on what exactly a migraine is? It is not just a headache & they tend to run in families. Migraines are a neurological disease. People who suffer from them are wired… read more
I am currently receiving Botox however this last one is not helping. I am considering the daith piercing but I keep seeing such mixed reviews. I would like to get information from others that have had it done.
They don't work for me
I'm seeing a Headache Specialist who obviously is a neurologist next week. My regular neurologist has done a great job trying, but the meds aren't working and I'm experiencing several more symptoms quickly. I'm sure I'll need one. I've been poked and prodded, sliced and diced, and I've been ok. I'm terrified of the spinal tap. Can everyone give me the scoop on the pain, procedure, etc. Please be honest and straightforward. No sugercoating. Lol. I'm a pretty strong chick, but I'd like some… read more
It's not a big deal, really. I've had 4. One of the doctors was older and was amazing. I could tell he had done many. It will be fine, I promise.
What do you guys know about triptan overuse headaches?
I just learned of them from a nurse at my neurologist’s office. This had never been mentioned before by my neurologist and he prescribes me 30 rizatriptans per month and 7 frovatriptans per month, which covers my 20 migraines (if they decide to work). However, I had no idea that by taking the prescribed medication as directed, I could actually be causing more migraines. But if I don’t take them, I’m in excruciating pain and am… read more

Keep me posted. How are you feeling and coping ?
Hello, Avlady ~ I realize this is well after the fact; however, am interested in Kermit... If you have a minute, would you provide direction? Thank you and stay well ~ :-)
I have heard a lot of the daith piercing. I was wondering if anyone has done it. Did it work for you? How long did it take before it work? Need pro and con's about this kind of piercing before I do it.
My cousin did and it hasn't helped her's so i haven't done it.
I'm having trouble getting through daily life when the symptoms don't stop or lessen for weeks at a time.
I'm also having issues with people at work who act like nothing is wrong with me and I should just do what they ask because I "look fine".... has anyone delt with situations like this? What is a good way of handling people who think you are lazy, when you are trying your best to do what you can within your abilities? I feel like I'm talking to brick walls.
Yes I did and if I knew what I know now I would have gone out on disability. Migraines are a disability and I didn’t know it.
